An R&D Engineer Manager at Footprint is responsible for ensuring that key projects and engineering duties are fulfilled. This leader is responsible for solving any engineering issues that comes up in a project as well as for developing the overall concepts of new products and/or solving problems that may prevent their completion. They direct, plan accordingly, and spend time supervising employees in different departments throughout the project. A few of the main duties with this role is to answer technical questions, proposing budgets for projects, training new employees, and working with various other departments. The leader must prepare reports on the progress of any project. One of the most important skills that an engineering manager will have is their ability to effectively delegate the work.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry or materials science
- 5 years or more experience in Engineering field
- Prior management experience required
- Interpersonal skills to manage a team on engineers
- Ability to give constructive criticism
- Ability to make decisions quickly
- Great analytical and math skills
- Ability to collaborate with many other teams
- Ability to create a set of qualifications for a new product
Need to be able to demonstrate leadership of the team, guide it through the hurdles that will arise to success.
Need to be a able to demonstrate technical leadership and understand the machines’ operations PMs, and troubleshooting of issues.
Need to role model problem solving by using a 7 step or similar type of technical problem solving techniques.
Will own development and proliferation of technologies associated with the modules that are under their authority. For example yield, MU, MED requirements, and NPI requirements.
Needs to understand the larger picture of the module and how it integrates with the rest of the company.
