Quality & Food Safety Manager – Piekary Slaskie

  • Building the culture of the Quality and Food Safety (QFS) department within our company;
  • Oversee and lead the department, provision of training and guidance to all operations crew to ensure legal and internal compliance standards are understood and followed.
  • Implementation, assurance and improvement of food safety and quality management systems at the plant level, in coordination with management systems at the group level;
  • Monitoring and controlling the activities necessary to guarantee the fulfillment of the product specification and meeting the requirements approved by the customer;
  • Compliance with HACCP/GMP, BRC/IFS/FS22000;, ISO 9001 standards;
  • Responsibility for the Laboratory, as well as for the supervision of tests and quality control required for product approval (BfR standard);
  • Certification of the equipment and devices used in laboratory and production and for the tasks of quality controllers;
  • Defines, reviews and tracks food safety and quality management procedures;
  • Control over the applied procedures, mainly regarding the management of nonconformities, as well as corrective, preventive and streamlining actions;
  • Coordination and performance of periodic checks and audits in the area of food safety regarding the correct application of approved procedures and standards;
  • Supervision over the control of raw materials and external services;
  • Managing complaints to suppliers and monitoring them in relation to products and services delivered to the facility;
  • Managing customer complaints secure 8D reports provided within agreed schedule
  • Communicates periodically to the group's Quality Manager development and quality management activity in the plant;
  • Actively participating in the continuous improvement of the plant's management processes;
  • Maintaining compliance with safety, health and environmental (HSE) standards, as well as supervising their implementation by colleagues in his / her department;
  • Collaboration to improve the HSE system;
  • Maintaining order and cleanliness at the workplace and compliance with 5S standards;


  • A completed master's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Process Technology or similar;
  • 8+ years’ experience in Q&FSmanagement in diverse work environments, experience within the packaging industry and/or Food Manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge/certification of Quality and Food Safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practice.
  • Experience in leading a team in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Must be competent with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and passion for quality and food safety
  • Experience conducting gap analyses and developing corrective action plans
  • Effectively and timely handle crisis situations professionally
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills - excellent verbal, written and oral ability to independently deal with internal customers and external resources, including technical writing and presentation skills
  • A good listener and thoughtful communicator - straightforward, honest, and direct
  • Ability to prioritize and organize, work well under stress, and meet deadlines
  • Strong decision-making and problem resolution skills and abilities
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
